Bal Harbor Sedation Dentistry

Cosmetic & Implant Dentist

If you’ve recently relocated to this area of southern Florida, you may be looking for a dentist practice in Bal Harbor that meets the needs of your entire family.  Sedation Dentistry of Sunny Isles welcomes you to visit our office and discuss your needs.  We know how difficult it can be moving to a new location.  Furthermore, we understand that you must find a dentist and a doctor that can take care of all the family requirements.  This is especially true if a family member has a pre-existing dental or medical condition.

Finding a dentist isn’t that difficult.  However, finding one that offers a comprehensive line of services for everybody in your household could be a little more challenging.  It’s even more difficult to find state certified sedation dentistry services in Bal Harbor.  At Sedation Dentistry of Sunny Isles, our staff members are dedicated to making your visits to our office a pleasant, stress-free experience, and providing compassionate care.  We’ll work with you to develop a dental plan that accommodates all your dental needs.

Understanding Sedation Dentistry

Imagine needing a more complex procedure or oral surgery.  Maybe you’ve broken a tooth and need porcelain crown services in Bal Harbor.  Or perhaps your back molars are impacted and you need wisdom teeth removal services in Bal Harbor.  Now imagine that once the procedure is finished, you don’t recall feeling any discomfort, hearing any noises, or suffering any pain.  Plus, you’ve no idea how long the procedure took to complete.  That is what you’ll experience with effective, safe sedation dentistry services in Bal Harbor.

Patients who benefit from this type of care at Sedation Dentistry of Sunny Isles are individuals who have:

  • anxiety and fears of going to the dentist
  • difficulties remaining numb from anesthetics
  • sitting still for a long time

Consequently, with sedation dentistry techniques, patients benefit from our Bal Harbor dental services in the following ways:

NO anxiety or fears during a procedure or treatment

NO recollection of time passing

NO sense of sound or smell

NO memory of even having a procedure or treatment done

Ask any of our sedation dentistry patients in Bal Harbor about their experience and they will probably tell you that it was an easy and relaxing experience.

3 Levels of Sedation

We understand that you may be nervous about visiting Sedation Dentistry of Sunny Isles.  Whether you’re coming in for restorative or cosmetic dentist services in Bal Harbor, you’ll have peace of mind.  We have been certified by the state of Florida and licensed by the ADA.  Our caring, compassionate staff will always be courteous, professional, and respectful.  Furthermore, we offer three (3) distinct levels of sedation:

  • Mild sedation (anxiolysis) – A lighter type of sedation that is often used on patients who suffer with mild anxiety while undergoing longer, more complex procedures.

  • Moderate (conscious) sedation – Used on individuals who suffer with moderate dental anxiety and are undergoing longer, more complex procedures (you’ll be conscious, but in a deeper, relaxed state).

  • Deep sedation – During your procedure, this level of sedation will have you drifting in and out of consciousness (cannot respond to others when awake; no recollection of the procedure or treatment).

Sedatives can be administered in the form of inhalants, intravenously, or orally.  For those patients who undergo deep sedation, you must have a spouse, parent, or friend come to your appointment with you as you will not be able to drive afterwards.

Cosmetic Dentistry

There’s so much that can be done these days to improve the appearance of a person’s smile — at any age. From powerful, professional whitening treatments to amazingly realistic porcelain veneers to state-of-the-art dental implants. Learn how Sedation Dentistry of Sunny Isles can help take your smile to the next level.

The first step in any smile makeover is a thorough dental examination to make sure that your cosmetic problems really are just that, and not a sign of underlying dental disease. Once your health has been established, your smile can be cosmetically enhanced in a variety of ways.

Beautiful Veneers

When bonded to your teeth, veneers can create a natural-looking, beautiful new surface. That’s because dental porcelain, like natural tooth enamel, is translucent and tough. But it doesn’t stain like tooth enamel does.

Recent years have brought remarkable advances in dental porcelain technology. These days, veneers can be made so thin that they can sometimes be bonded directly onto your existing tooth surface. In other cases, a very thin layer of tooth enamel — as thin as the veneer itself — needs to be removed to fit the new porcelain surface and make it look as lifelike as possible. Either way, the results are sure to make you smile.

Dental Implants

A dental implant most often takes the form of a small, screw-shaped titanium post that replaces the root-part of a missing tooth. The surgical procedure used to place an implant is actually quite minor and routine, requiring only local anesthesia in most cases. After a healing period, the implant is topped with a lifelike crown custom-made to match your existing natural teeth. Implants have a documented success rate of over 95%, which is significantly higher than any other tooth-replacement option.

Sedation Dentistry

There’s so much dentistry can do these days to make your mouth healthier and your smile more beautiful. Yet many people don’t take advantage of this because of a long-standing fear of dental treatment. If you are one of these people, rest assured that it’s possible to have an experience that’s free of anxiety and pain. This can be accomplished by blocking your sensations of pain with local anesthetics or by giving you medication that can help you relax. Sometimes both are needed to ensure maximum comfort, especially if you are someone for whom the injections that deliver local anesthetics are themselves a major source of anxiety.
