We strive to provide a real first-class, spa-like experience
This is why we designed our facility with our patients’ comfort in mind. We wanted to create a relaxed, calming environment that will almost make you forget you are at the dentist.
When you come in for your appointment at Sedation Dentistry of Sunny Isles, you can expect:
- Your own private room
- No waiting for appointments
- Aromatherapy

We offer every level of sedation for every treatment
More than 22% of Americans avoid visiting the dentist due to fear or anxiety. 75% of people feel anxiety before visiting the dentist. We get it — a trip to the dentist can be associated with pain, fear of injections, or feelings of embarrassment about the condition of your teeth.
That’s where our sedation services come in. We never want you to ignore or skip treatment because of fear or anxiety. Sedation dentistry can help ease anxiety at the dentist, leaving you relaxed when you might usually be scared or uncomfortable.
Let’s take a look at the different kinds of sedation dentistry we offer.
Nitrous oxide
Nitrous oxide is the sedative most people have heard of — otherwise known as laughing gas.
Administered via a small and comfortable mask placed over your nose, this odorless gas will leave you feeling relaxed within seconds of breathing it in. Plus, the effects of the gas wear off quickly, allowing you to get back to your day mere minutes after you take the mask off.
Oral sedation
If you know your dental anxiety is already high, our dentist can prescribe oral medications before your appointment. These medications can help ease anxiety about your visit and help you relax beforehand. Some medications may take a few hours to wear off.
Conscious IV
This type of sedation is also referred to as “twilight” sedation. That’s because with this type of treatment, you will enter a dreamlike state. You’ll still be “awake” enough to follow your dentist’s instructions, but you will have either little or no memory of the procedure once the sedative has worn off. Twilight sedation is administered through an IV.
If you have experienced dental anxiety and think sedation dentistry will help, contact us and we’ll discuss the best treatment plan for you.
General anesthesia
This is the deepest form of sedation, where you’ll be completely “asleep” for your whole visit. Administered by a board-certified anesthesiologist for your safety, you’ll remain sedated for the entirety of the treatment. Afterward, you’ll recover in one of our private treatment suites.
General anesthesia may take a few hours after treatment to fully wear off. With this in mind, you will be required to have a caretaker available to drive you home from the office.
High-tech treatments
Here at Sedation Dentistry of Sunny Isles, we are proud to offer the latest dental technology in our office. Not only does this create more comfortable services for our patients, it allows us to treat and diagnose our patients faster and easier.
Cone Beam CT Scans
These scans allow for early detection of tooth decay, and other dental problems. The Cone Beam scan also provides clear imaging for precise implant placement.
Intraoral scanner
This scanner creates a clear image of your teeth and gums without requiring messy mouth impressions.
Itero digital imaging
Perfect for restorative and cosmetic treatments, this allows your dentist to create a 3D image of your whole mouth in under 60 seconds.
Low-exposure dental x-rays
Dental x-rays already use a small and safe amount of radiation, but our low exposure dental x-rays use an even smaller amount of radiation, still creating clear, sharp images of your teeth.
Periolase
Great news: gum therapy treatments no longer require invasive surgery with our Periolase technology. Periolase is an FDA-approved laser treatment for gum restoration and other regenerative treatments.
In-house laboratory
We are thrilled to house a dental lab on-site, allowing us to complete multiple procedures and quickly process results all during just one visit to our office.
